Old Town Dickens Village

This holiday season Old Town will transform its streets into a festive Victorian scene for the fifth annual Old Town Dickens Village. On December 3, from noon until 5 p.m., free family friendly activities will be taking place throughout Old Town.

The morning kicks off at 10 a.m. with the Scrooge Scramble, a 5K run/walk through the heart of Old Town and Lansing River Trail. This race is hosted by Avail Solutions and Riverview Fitness Center. All proceeds will go toward Dickens Village and the Old Town Commercial Association for the revitalization of Old Town.

Dickens Village continues with numerous holiday festivities hosted by Old Town businesses:

  • The Greater American Fierce Beard Organization (GAFBO) will be at Dickens Village again this year, showing off their beards, providing arts & crafts for the kids, & giving tips on how to get the perfect moustache.

               GAFBO will be holding a beards/mustache competition this year! Located at 1215 Turner St., the old Mustang location

  • Gingerbread house building at Favorites Café, 3-5pm
  • Holiday card-making at Gallery 1212
  • Ornament making from recycled materials at Girl Scourt building
  • Horse-drawn carriage rides by Lot 56 (Clark Hill PLC)
  • Grapevine wreaths making at 1215 Turner, the old Mustang location
  • Victorian Dress-up photoshoot at Perspective 2, 1-5pm
  • Puppet Theatre Players at Art & Soul Photography
  • Wizard of Oz musical, 3pm
  • Carolers singing your favorite holiday tunes

  4. Shannon Hughes & Guitar 1-5pm
  • Holiday Feast at Pablo's Panaderia 
  • Free hot chocolate & cider at Sir Pizza & By the Riverside
  • Hilltop Yoga Annual Holiday Party & Gift Walk at 105 E. Grand River, 2-7pm

All activities will be happening from noon-5pm unless otherwise specified.
