WASHINGTON D.C. (August 24, 2009) - For the second consecutive year, MessageMakers has been selected for the 2009 Best of Lansing Award in the Audio-Visual Equipment category by the U.S. Local Business Association (USLBA).
The USLBA “Best of Local Business” Award Program recognizes outstanding local businesses throughout the country. Each year, the USLBA identifies companies that they believe have achieved exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category. These are local companies that enhance the positive image of small business through service to their customers and community.
“It’s a great honor,” notes MessageMakers president Terry Terry. “For years we’ve been providing the audio-visual services that bring great events to Lansing, like the Lansing JazzFest and Old Town BluesFest – as well as supplying large national events, such as the Harley Owners Group training events. It’s great to be recognized for our work.”
Nationwide, only 1 in 70 (1.4%) 2008 award recipients qualified as 2009 award winners. Winners were determined based on the information gathered both internally by the USLBA and data provided by third parties.
MessageMakers produces experiences that transform worldwide in a number of arenas: events, learning programs, and video. For more information, visit http://www.messagemakers.com.

The OTCA has partnered up with the City of Lansing to provide a safe and fun area for children to play in the Old Town area with the help of Sinclair Recreation, LLC. As a community build project, the playground will be constructed by volunteers from the surrounding neighborhoods. Their hard work and effort will give Old Town a safe place by the river for people of all ages to enjoy.
On Wednesday, August 19th Mayor Virg Bernero will be helping us welcome this great addition with a ribbon cutting at 10 a.m. The following two hours will be dedicated to bringing the community together. Old Town businesses are coming together to provide fun activities for children, and of course, a place to play.
