Spring is finally here, summer is just a short couple months away and planning is well under way for the OTCA’s Festival of the Moon and Festival of the Sun, held Friday, June 20 from 6-11p.m. and Saturday, June 21 from 2-10p.m., respectively. As the festivals continue to grow in popularity, we are sure that this year’s events will be the best yet.
We are excited to announce that we are expanding Festival of the Sun this year to include more food and drink vendors as well as an entertainment stage in Burchard Park. Food vendors will be located near the stage, giving patrons the opportunity to enjoy the sounds of rockin’ beats while tasting scrumptious samples from Lansing area food vendors. Also new to Festival of the Sun is the Kids’ Corner sponsored by Impression 5 Science Center. Staff from Impression 5 will entertain the little ones by providing fun and educational craft activities from 2-6p.m. Kids under 12 also receive free admission to the Festival of the Sun.
This year you can enjoy a private party at Festival of the Sun and Festival of the Moon. These sponsorships are excellent for client or employee appreciation gifts or to ensure seating for a group. For $500, the private party package includes 8 entrance tickets, 8 commemorative glasses, 160 food and drink tickets, reserved table and seating under the VIP tent and access to both the VIP restroom and the VIP entrance. The private parties are going fast, so be sure to reserve yours as soon as possible!
Tickets for the festivals will be available in the beginning of June. Festival of the Moon tickets are $10 each and Festival of the Sun tickets are $17 in advance or $20 at the door. Patrons can purchase a combined pass, giving them access to both Festival of the Moon and Festival of the Sun for $25.
Festival of the Moon and Festival of the Sun are the Old Town Commercial Association’s primary fundraising events. These festivals allow the OTCA to continue its mission of revitalization through community improvements and development.
