Thank You, Lansing Pride! Our ScrapCans Campaign Keeps Growing
A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by the Old Town Commercial Association’s booth during Lansing Pride!
Thanks to your generosity, the ScrapCans campaign is in a strong position and continues to gain momentum. We’re making progress toward bringing artist-designed scrap metal trash cans to Old Town—turning everyday infrastructure into functional public art created by ScrapFest artists.
Whether you donated, picked up information, or just stopped to say hello, your support means so much. It was great to connect with so many community members who share our vision for a cleaner, more vibrant Old Town filled with public art.
We’re not at the finish line yet, and every additional dollar helps us get closer to our goal. Every contribution makes a real difference.
With continued support, OTCA plans to install five new artist-made trash cans, created using scrap metal generously donated by Friedland Industries. These pieces will reflect Old Town’s creative identity while improving cleanliness, accessibility, and walkability throughout the district.
We’re grateful to everyone who helped make our presence at Lansing Pride a success and look forward to keeping Old Town clean.
